SmashWebs vs CPA Site Solutions
CPA Site Solutions has been selling websites to accounting firms for years. SmashWebs is newer and self-serve: you describe the practice, we generate the site, you publish. Both will get a CPA online. They are not the same product.
If you want the short version: pick CPA Site Solutions when you want an accounting-only vendor, a client portal, and a library of tax articles, and you will pay Silver-and-up money for that bundle. Pick SmashWebs when you need a credible practice site this week, you will write (or chat) your own updates, and you do not want a marketing package attached to the hosting bill.
This page is the honest split. For the wider field (BuildYourFirm, Squarespace), see CPA website builder options for 2026.
Price, as listed
SmashWebs, August 2026:
- Starter, $29/month: 3-page site, smashwebs.com address, hosting, SSL, contact form, you edit by hand.
- Professional, $79/month: your own domain, more pages, AI edits in plain English, analytics.
- Growth, $149/month: the above, plus more AI capacity and a human path for everyday changes.
No setup fee. No annual contract. Domain registration, if we buy it for you, is extra (typically $12–$20/year).
CPA Site Solutions, from their public pricing:
- They still advertise "as low as $76/month."
- Published website tiers: Silver $90, Gold $111, Platinum $137, Diamond $166.50 per month.
- 60-day free trial on several website plans.
- Add-ons on the pricing page include extra HTTPS ($9.99/month), social (from about $79/month), reputation monitoring, portal storage, SEO and PPC by quote.
A SmashWebs Professional site ($79) is in the same monthly neighborhood as their advertised floor, and below Silver. Starter is cheaper because the URL is still on smashwebs.com. Compare Professional to Silver if the question is "firm site on my domain."
What you actually get
SmashWebs is a website. Hosting, SSL, mobile layout, service pages, a place for credentials, a contact form. You are the publisher. Tax-season copy is yours to add.
CPA Site Solutions is a website plus an accounting marketing stack: templates aimed at CPAs, pre-written tax content, a client portal on paid plans, and optional ads, SEO, and social. You are buying a vendor relationship.
That is the whole argument. Everything else is detail.
Where SmashWebs is the better fit
You are solo or very small. There is no marketing coordinator. Referrals already Google you, and the result is a blank or a LinkedIn stub.
You want to be live before you spend a week in a brand questionnaire. SmashWebs takes a description of the practice and produces pages you can correct, not a blank Squarespace canvas and not a two-week design cycle.
You do not want 40 other firms in the metro running the same tax-tip article with a different logo. We do not ship a shared content library. That is a gap if you wanted filler. It is a feature if you have watched clients bounce off generic "deduction reminder" posts.
Updates at 10 p.m. in April: on Professional you describe the change (hours, a new service, a phone number) and review it. You are not waiting on a ticket queue to open at 8 a.m. Eastern.
Where CPA Site Solutions is the better fit
You want a client portal (document exchange, not just a contact form). We do not have one. They do. If that is a requirement, stop here and call them.
You want articles every week without writing them. Their tax library is the product. It will not sound like your voice. It will sound like a CPA website. For some firms that is enough.
You want a company that only works with accountants, has been doing it for a long time, and will get on the phone. Their trial is 60 days. Ours is 14 days of Professional-tier access when you publish, then you pick a plan. If you need a long evaluation with their staff, they are set up for that.
You are shopping a marketing bundle (PPC, social, reputation) from the same invoice as the site. That is their catalog. It is not ours.
When not to choose SmashWebs
Do not pick us if you need QuickBooks-adjacent client file exchange on the site itself. Do not pick us if you want someone else to write a year of tax blog posts. Do not pick Starter and expect yournamecpa.com on the business card; that is Professional.
We are also not an SEO retainer. Every SmashWebs site ships with titles, headings, mobile layout, and schema basics. Rankings still depend on your city, your reviews, and your Google Business Profile. Nobody honest guarantees page one.
When not to choose CPA Site Solutions
Do not pick them if the $76 headline is the budget. Read Silver and the add-on list. Do not pick them if you wanted a site that could only belong to your firm and you are sensitive to template-and-library sameness. Do not pick them if you wanted to publish a change yourself at night without a process.

What to do next
If SmashWebs fits, create the site or read websites for accountants. If you are still comparing the whole category, go back to the CPA website builder roundup.
If CPA Site Solutions fits, use their trial and price the portal and content add-ons before you treat $76 as the number. Their site is cpasitesolutions.com.
